Sunset Home for the Elderly is a private, assisted living housing that is licensed in the State of Maryland. Sunset Home provides each resident the highest standard of care 24 hours per day, seven days a week, in a homely setting by utilizing highly trained and caring healthcare professionals and support staff.
By offering three levels of care, we make it possible for residents to age in place without the worry of constant transfers and relocation. Sunset Home provides each resident a tastefully furnished room, or if they prefer they can furnish themselves. Monthly fees vary depending on room size, and level of care provided. Residents enjoy dining together for three scheduled home-cooked meals that are reviewed by a licensed dietician. In addition, supervised medications and transportation are provided for doctor’s visits and trips to local shopping centers. Safety & ChoiceSunset Home for the Elderly emphasizes independence and choice. Rules and procedures have been designed to emphasize independence and choice.
The following safety measures are in place to protect residents’ personal property, and to protect residents from wandering. The facility is fully equipped with a sprinkler system, exit doors with alarm devices; all residents’ areas are carpeted; a floor plan is displayed in each resident’s room and common areas; fire drills are scheduled every 6 months; and an emergency plan is publicly displayed. Abuse & NeglectSunset Home enforces a zero tolerance policy for abuse and neglect. Abuse is the physical, sexual, mental, or verbal ill-treatment of a resident or the use of physical or chemical restraints or involuntary seclusion. Abuse, neglect and exploitation are PROHIBITED in the facility.
